Formal vs Styled Portrait Session

To make understanding our portrait sessions easier, I’ve selected the terms formal and creative. Portrait sessions can come in all shapes and sizes, so it can be hard to sort them out. I would consider formal versus creative as good overall groups. 

Formal Portrait Session

For us, a formal portrait session would be your hang on the wall, send out holiday cards, need a headshot type of sessions. Our Created Simply Sessions are geared toward a more formal feel. They are shorter in length, but still seek to provide an enjoyable experience.

Styled Portrait Session

Styled sessions would be the ones that tell a story, such as lifestyle sessions, beauty sessions, branding sessions, and the like. This would also include a session where you are bringing a concept to life such as a birthday session, where all the details are planned out and coordinated. Our Created for More Portrait Session fits the bill. From the customized mood board to creative lighting techniques, these sessions are geared toward having fun with creativity.
